Day Trips from Paris by Train

This is the practical rail planner: compare the Paris departure station, operator, line, journey time, fare zone and reservation rule before choosing your day out.

Some places are reached by a direct train; Senlis, Barbizon and Honfleur need a short bus or coach connection after the rail journey. Always check current engineering works and timetables before travel.

Before You Buy

Île-de-France Ticketing Essentials

A single Metro-Train-RER ticket costs €2.55 and a bus ticket costs €2.05. They are not interchangeable, so a journey using both rail and bus requires one of each.

Navigo Jour costs €12.30 and Navigo Semaine €31.60. The old point-to-point fares were abolished on 1 January 2025, so one ticket now covers any distance within Île-de-France.

Validation before boarding is compulsory on Transilien. E-tickets bought through SNCF Connect never need validating.
